Higher Education Resources and Opportunities for Exceptional Scholars a NJ Nonprofit Corporation was incorporated in the State of New Jersey on August 10, 2009 with the intent of applying for non-profit status under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. We are in the process of applying for recognition as a tax-exempt organization. Please consult your tax advisor about the tax deductiblity of your contributions.
Register for the Writing Talent Search, including the registration fee in order to receive an evaluation of your writing based on Rutgers standards for incoming freshmen. You will not be eligible for the Final Round or Awards Ceremony.
Consider taking a Summer Session class. Some classes may require you to take a placement test in writing, math or a world language. See information on High School Summer Scholars Scholarships below.
High School Summer Scholars Scholarships are available to high school sophomores and juniors with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a letter of recommendation from their guidance counselors. These awards, which cover 20% of tuition for up to two summer courses taken at the New Brunswick campus, are administered by the New Brunswick Office of Summer and Winter Sessions. To apply for this scholarship, students should apply to register for Summer Session, then ask their guidance counselors to send a letter of recommendation no later than June 11 to:
