Higher Education Resources and Opportunities for Exceptional Scholars a NJ Nonprofit Corporation was incorporated in the State of New Jersey on August 10, 2009 with the intent of applying for non-profit status under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. We are in the process of applying for recognition as a tax-exempt organization. Please consult your tax advisor about the tax deductiblity of your contributions.

Students may qualify for HEROES if they meet any one of the following criteria:

     

  • Membership in Davidson's Young Scholars

     

  • Membership in the Study of Exceptional Talent

     

  • Score of at least 3 standard deviations above the mean on any of the following IQ tests:

    •  

    • Stanford Benet IV or V

    • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV

    • Woodcock-Johnson Cognitive Battery-III

    • Differential Abilities Scale-II

     

  • Score of at least 3 standard deviations above the mean on any of the following achievement tests

    •  

    • Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement-II

    • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – II

    • Woodcock-Johnson Test of Achievement-III

     

  • Meet or exceed any one of the following scores:
